Turtle life habits:

In our country, turtles often live in rivers, lakes or ponds. It eats animals such as worms, snails, shrimps and small fish, as well as plant stems, leaves and grains. Mating begins in late April and takes place in the evening. The egg-laying period is from May to August, and is completed three or four times a year, with 5 to 7 eggs laid in one hole each time. Before laying eggs, the female turtle uses her hind legs to dig a hole in the loose soil on the sunny and shady shore and lays the eggs in the hole.

After laying, cover the eggs with loose soil. The eggs are oblong, hard, grayish white, with a diameter of 27 to 38 mm x 13 to 20 mm. Under natural conditions, the baby turtles will hatch after 50 to 80 days. They can enter the water and live independently after hatching. The gender of hatched turtles is controlled by temperature. When the temperature is 25℃, the hatchlings are male, and when the temperature is above 28℃, the hatchlings are female.
